Sizing & Fitting

These collars are made to order and are not adjustable.
Please measure around the widest part of your dog’s head to ensure the collar can slip on and off comfortably.
Sizes are based on head measurement, not neck size.
Once fitted, the collar should sit loosely at the base of the neck.

How to Measure Your Dog’s Neck for a Collar

Standard Collars

When measuring your dog for their new collar use a flexible tape measure.

  1. Wrap the tape around the widest part of your dog’s neck.
  2. Place two fingers (on top of each other, not flat) under the tape measure and lay your fingers flat against your dog’s neck to allow some space; you don’t want the collar too tight around their neck.
  3. Holding the tape measure to size, try and slip it over your dog’s head. If it doesn’t fit over and come off, this is a good size for your collar.

All of our buckle collars are adjustable for the perfect fit.

Alternatively, if you have an existing collar that is a good fit, lay it flat and measure from the middle of the buckle to the hole most used. Use that measurement as a guide to choosing the right collar size.

Half-slip Collars

Which size fits your dog? The Half Slip Collar sits loosely on the neck and tightens gently for a secure fit without pressure. It is not adjustable as each collar is custom-made to your dog’s neck circumference. To determine the price, simply measure your dog’s neck and head using the following guide, see which size range the measurement comes under and lastly choose your preferred width.

  1. Neck circumference: At the narrowest point (usually just behind the ears); this is the tightest setting.
  2. Head circumference: At the widest point above the ears – this is important so the collar fits over the head.

Note: Your dog should be standing while measuring. Please measure snugly and do not add any extra length.
